CREATING CHANGE

The journey to justice begins when survivors can speak their truth. In order to create a safe environment for truth-telling, Knowmore works closely with a number of aligned organisations, sharing our expertise and resources wherever they can be of help.

We recognise the ongoing impact of enduring colonial systems on First Nations Peoples. Systemic discrimination and intergenerational trauma complicate legal and service needs, posing significant challenges to the delivery of culturally safe support.

External pressures, such as overwhelmed mental health and housing services, add further challenges to our ability to offer comprehensive support. Despite these challenges, survivors show remarkable courage in navigating systems on their path to seeking justice.

Knowmore’s work is guided by an evidence-based service model built on three foundational pillars. That is, trauma-informed, culturally safe, and multidisciplinary practices to provide holistic support and deliver effective outcomes for those seeking justice.
